We just wanted to give you a few updates and reminders as you head into the holiday weekend!
- The Welcome Center will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. However, the dispatch/visitor’s lane will be open from 8am-4pm that day. If you need any assistance, please call security at 843-785-4776.
- The League of Women Voters (a non-partisan organization) will be at the Beach Club this Wednesday, September 9th from 10 am-noon. They will be there to help with voter registration or any mail-in and absentee ballot requests you may have.
- Once again it is time for our Employee Appreciation Week. We will begin celebrating the staff on Sunday, September 6th with a variety of perks from extended lunch breaks to comfy shoe days. So if you happen to see a gate officer sporting sneakers on their post, just know it is temporary and in an effort to give their feet a much needed break following a very busy season. It’s always nice to hear positive feedback, so if you have witnessed an employee at their best, we encourage you to stop and let them know!
- We will also have a food truck (The Naked Dog) on Friday, September 11th from 11am-4pm, in the Welcome Center parking lot for you to enjoy. We will send out a priced menu for your reference early next week.
- After a long, hot summer, we are all happy that Labor Day has arrived and we are starting to see the pace of infection rates of COVID-19 on Hilton Head starting to slow somewhat. Please read the important information attached about free testing opportunities on the Island. There have also been questions regarding the Beaufort County Council’s decision to place a surcharge on policing. David Ames, the Town of Hilton Head councilman for Shipyard, has provided us with some information on the subject (see attached). His email is included if you have questions.
- CVS will be providing an onsite flu vaccine clinic for Shipyard owners at the Beach Club on Thursday, September 24th from 10am-1pm (note the date change from 9/25). All you need to bring is your insurance card and a state-issued ID.
