POA Response to COVID-19

We wanted to assure you that we are doing everything we can to keep the property operating as normally as possible, including ensuring that you and the staff stay safe. To reduce contact for the staff, contractors are being directed to the Dispatch/Visitor’s Lane, not the Welcome Center where we continue to have our core staff working. We are encouraging owners to refrain from coming to the Welcome Center unless there is an emergency, so please use the phone or email for questions or passes. We have also eliminated owner gatherings at the Beach Club. The Sonesta is still operational, but there have been multiple group cancellations. The golf course is still operational, but their management is considering options as the spread continues.
The management team has been working on contingency plans should we have limited staff, and we will advise you by email if those measures are needed. On the bright side of things, we are fortunate that a good bit of our assessment has been paid for 2020, we have completed our Annual Meeting, we are renewing our annual insurance for the POA by the end of the month, and the contractors that supply services for the POA are still operating. We expect to have some paving in the next few weeks so please have patience while that work is being done. This is new territory for most of us, and please know that you are cared for by your dedicated staff and we will do everything possible to keep the “ship steady” during this time of uncertainty.
We are postponing our organizational meeting for the board for everyone’s safety and our current officers will remain in place until further notice. We encourage all of you to heed the advice of local, state and federal officials regarding the best ways to manage amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
