Hilton Head Best US Islands in 2021

America has weighed in again: Hilton Head Island is one of the top islands in the world, according to a poll of Condé Nast Traveler readers. Hilton Head was ranked as the best island in the United States during the travel magazine’s 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards. The results were released Tuesday. This is the fifth consecutive year that Hilton Head has topped the list of best U.S. islands in Condé Nast’s poll. Mary Alice relocated from the DC Metropolitan area to Hilton Head Island after retiring from the U.S. Government just over 19 years ago. Upon retiring, she devoted her free time to improving her skills as a photographer, with an emphasis on the wildlife of the Lowcountry. Mary Alice has been the Shipyard photographer for the past 6 years, including photos for POA ads in local magazines (Hilton Head Monthly, Celebrate Hilton Head (CH2), and Local Life), as well as images for this newsletter. We continue to fight the spread of the virus and the vaccine is available. We have received a number of calls from residents asking when can they get the vaccine. The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control is handling vaccine distribution in our state and is working with healthcare providers across South Carolina to administer shots. Join us at our outdoor Fall Festival on October 23 from 2-7 pm. We will have socially distanced tables and chairs set-up at the Beach Club circle and on the deck. The inside of the Beach Club will not be open, so we also encourage you to bring your own chairs to supplement if you would like. Masks will also be required. Monthly Owner Updates Thank you to The League of Women Voters for their event at the Beach Club yesterday. There was a great turnout. We appreciate their help in getting residents registered to vote. We will also have a food truck (The Naked Dog) coming tomorrow, September 11th from 11am-4pm, in the Welcome Center parking lot for you to enjoy. The menu is attached below. We have noticed an increasing number of owners parking cars on the landscaped areas of their yards.
