FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2023           This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Cooking safety starts with YOU. Pay attention to fire prevention”, works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe when cooking. *Turn pot handles toward the back of the stove. *Stay in the kitchen while you are frying, baking, roasting, grilling or broiling. Set a timer to remind you that you are cooking. *Have a “kid-free zone” of at least 3 feet around the stove and where hot food or drink is prepared or carried. *Anything can catch on …

TS Idalia Clean Up & Related Info

TS Idalia Clean Up & Related Info.: Thanks to everyone for helping us get Shipyard all cleaned-up after the storm. There are still a few common areas that need attention, but they will be completed by tomorrow. You may have also noticed that lagoon levels are low throughout the property. This was largely due to removing weir boards in anticipation of TS Idalia and potential subsequent storms. The boards will be put back in place this week.

Debris Clean Up

Hello again, We have now completed several tours, and we witnessed many of you outside already cleaning of your yards. We know that you are all anxious to get the property back into shape shape. In the interest of time, we wanted to let you know that the Board of Directors have made a decision regarding community debris pick-up. We haven’t heard from everyone yet, but we have more than enough for a majority. The catastrophic fund will only be used to clear the common roads and areas. Recovery from Tropical Storm Idalia

Huge “thank you” to Chris Gregory for staying safe while taking a photo of our beach during Tropical Storm Idalia! Good morning, Our landscaping, tree care, and other maintenance teams have taken several tours this morning to assess the damage left behind by Tropical Storm Idalia. At this juncture, we are still working hard to ensure that the roads are cleared of debris and down trees/limbs. Once we finish that process, we will work to figure out a clean-up plan for private residences and condominium areas. At this time, the Board is currently reviewing potential options, and we will reach …

Hurricane Idalia Update 8.30.2023

Overview – Idalia is expected to make landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida as a Category 4 major hurricane around daybreak this morning. After landfall, Idalia is forecasted to track to the northeast and should gradually weaken. However, Idalia is forecasted to be at hurricane strength as it reaches southeast GA late this afternoon, then become a tropical storm as it tracks along the coast of SC. Impacts from Idalia will gradually increase this morning, deteriorating sharply across the region this afternoon and evening. Conditions should improve during the daylight hours of tomorrow (8/31).

Hurricane Idalia

Tropical Storm Idalia has strengthened into a hurricane as of early this morning. As the storm tracks across the eastern Gulf of Mexico it is expected to strengthen, becoming a major hurricane tonight. On the current forecast track, Idalia would make landfall between Tampa and the Big Bend region of Florida Wednesday morning. Thereafter, Idalia is forecasted to track along or near the Georgia and South Carolina coast as a Tropical Storm late Wednesday morning through Thursday morning.
