Coronavirus Update

As you know the coronavirus cases in South Carolina have taken a dramatic turn upward. Yesterday, the Governor of South Carolina and the Hilton Head Island Town Council took executive actions to curtail that upward curve on COVID-19 contagion.
1.The Governor previously mandated that anyone visiting from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or New Orleans must self quarantine for 14 days to protect the residents of South Carolina and promote a culture of infections control. If you rent your Shipyard property, you are to ensure that your renters follow the Governor’s mandate.
2. On March 30, 2020, the South Carolina Governor, Henry McMaster, closed public accesses to the beach and waterways and associated parking areas.
3. On March 30, 2020, the Hilton Head Town Council voted 7 to 0 to request that the POAs voluntarily close parking areas at beach access points for the protection of Hilton Head Island residents and guests.
4. On March 30, 2020, the Town of Hilton Head requested that all Hilton Head Island rental property managers and business voluntarily cease rentals for the month of April and suspend any advertising to hot spot areas.
5. On March 31, 2020, with the advice of counsel, the officers of the Shipyard Property Owners’ Association voted to comply with the Town Council requests and are temporarily shutting the lockers, beach bathrooms and parking area. The bike path will remain open to walkers and bikers.
6. We recognize that this is an inconvenience, but these are serious times and we need to support the efforts of the Town and the Governor in controlling the spread of the virus.
7. The lockers, bathrooms and the parking areas will be closed effective April 1st.
Thanks for understanding. These measures are only temporary, and we will work to lift these restrictions as soon as deemed feasible. In the interim, we are only an email away if you need us. Be well!
