We do anticipate a busy summer season, so please try to limit yourself and guests to 1 vehicle per family. If you do park in the overflow parking, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, there is a Beach Cart Shuttle that can pick  you up and drop you off. Summer Reminders

Good afternoon Shipyard owners! We have had questions regarding the differences between a beach stamp and a beach hangtag. So here are a few points of clarification regarding the summer beach access program: Beach stamps and beach hangtags are two separate entities. Beach stamps are issued to renters and timeshare owners on one of their guest passes (example the Donald Duck Family has 2 vehicles = 1 beach stamp). There are no replacements for misplaced or missing beach stamps. Beach hangtags are issued to owners at a rate of 1 per property. Red Flashlights On The Beach

From May 1st through October 31st, sea turtles make Hilton Head Island their home. Many local sea turtles decide to pay their eggs on our beaches and soon after they start to hatch. According to the Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head, the group has found 134 total sea turtle nests on the island so far. Regular white lights can be distracting to newly hatched sea turtles and can deter them from finding their way into the ocean. 2022 SHIPYARD DECALS & BEACH HANGTAGS

As we are starting to see more people come to the Welcome Center for their 2022 Decals and Beach Hangtag, we wanted to send a few reminders: You will need to bring your vehicle registrations for each vehicle you want a decal for. As owners you are allowed 2 free decals for vehicles registered in YOUR name. Each decal after is $25.00. In order to register a vehicle for a family member, that family member must live within 50 miles of Hilton Head Island, SC to be eligible and it will cost $25.00. It is Sea Turtle Season!

The sea turtle nesting season starts Today, May 1st! The Sea Turtle Patrol operate under a permit issued by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. This means they are the only ones permitted to mark nests, move nests, record and transmit data, and handle/supervise all sea turtle activities. The Turtle Trackers are a sister organization who educate island guests and often serve as “hosts” on the beach to visitors looking for more information.
