This year, the Hilton Head Sea Turtle Patrol reported nearly 46% fewer nests on Hilton Head Island beaches. They documented 291 nests for 2020 compared to 463 nests in 2019. They noted a 76% success rate with nest hatches. Unfortunately, 38 nests became misoriented due to violations with beachfront lighting. Beachfront lighting is an issue we are continuing to work on. Even though tourist season seems to be slowing down, we want to ensure that we work to keep you, the owners, and your guests safe. While there may be less traffic and beachgoers, the virus is still very much among us. Welcome Center Hours Welcome Center hours are currently Monday- Friday 8 am-1 pm and Saturday from 8 am-11 am. There are no office hours on Sundays at this time. MASKS MANDATORY STARTING TOMORROW On June 29, 2020,  Hilton Head Island Town Council adopted Emergency Ordinance 2020-14 requiring individuals to wear face coverings in commercial business establishments in the municipal limits of the Town of Hilton Head Island effective 11:59 pm on June 30, 2020.
