Please be advised that the Welcome Center will close at noon today through tomorrow. We have a few reminders to share in hopes of keeping everyone in the loop regarding activities for the remainder of the year. The owner decal and beach hangtag validation process for 2021 will begin on Monday, December 7th. Welcome Center hours will be 8am-2pm Monday through Friday and 8am-noon on weekends. Please do not discard your current blue beach hangtags or decals, as you will be issued validation stickers for each. Good morning, everyone! The latest storm information from Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Tom Dunn, is attached. Chief Alexander suggests that all owners take heed of the pending storm conditions, stay tuned to local news outlets, try to stay indoors as much as possible and to secure any outdoor equipment to avoid property damage. As you may have already noticed, surf is very rough at the beach and the wind has already picked up in that area. Tropical Storm: Isaias (8/2/20)

Tropical Storm Isaias expected to impact Beaufort County starting tomorrow afternoon, Monday. Starting tomorrow afternoon, Monday, August 3, 2020, and throughout tomorrow night, Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to bring heavy rain, potentially damaging winds and flooding to Beaufort County. As of 2:00 p.m. today, Sunday, the National Weather Service’s National Hurricane Center is reporting Isaias to be located 370 miles south-southeast of Savannah, moving north-northwest at 9 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph. Hurricane Isaias Alert National Hurricane Center At 1100 AM, the center of Hurricane Isaias was located by an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft and Bahamas radar near latitude 24.7 North, longitude 77.9 West. Isaias is moving toward the northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A general northwestward motion with some decrease in forward speed is expected for the next day or so, followed by a north-northwestward motion by late Sunday. On the forecast track, the center of Isaias will move over northern Andros Island during the next few hours and move near or over Grand Bahama Island in the Northwestern …
