This year, the Hilton Head Sea Turtle Patrol reported nearly 46% fewer nests on Hilton Head Island beaches. They documented 291 nests for 2020 compared to 463 nests in 2019. They noted a 76% success rate with nest hatches. Unfortunately, 38 nests became misoriented due to violations with beachfront lighting. Beachfront lighting is an issue we are continuing to work on. Monthly Owner Updates Thank you to The League of Women Voters for their event at the Beach Club yesterday. There was a great turnout. We appreciate their help in getting residents registered to vote. We will also have a food truck (The Naked Dog) coming tomorrow, September 11th from 11am-4pm, in the Welcome Center parking lot for you to enjoy. The menu is attached below.
