Coronavirus Omicron Updates

At least 1.1 million coronavirus cases have been reported in South Carolina, and at least 13,678 people have died of the virus since March 2020, according to state health officials. Short Term Town Initiative

Town Hosting Meetings to Gather Public Input on Short-term Rentals Hilton Head Island, SC – The Town of Hilton Head Island will host several virtual public meetings to share information about the short-term rental initiative and to gather public input for development of solutions to address short-term rentals concerns. Virtual public open houses will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, and 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 3. Short Term Town Initiative

As of December 15, 2021: The Town of Hilton Head Island has launched an initiative to seek solutions and address concerns related to short-term rentals. “Short-term rentals have long been a part of the Island’s hospitality industry. We know residents have concerns about their growing numbers and the impacts they may have on adjacent properties and neighborhoods. Hilton Head Best US Islands in 2021

America has weighed in again: Hilton Head Island is one of the top islands in the world, according to a poll of Condé Nast Traveler readers. Hilton Head was ranked as the best island in the United States during the travel magazine’s 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards. The results were released Tuesday. This is the fifth consecutive year that Hilton Head has topped the list of best U.S. islands in Condé Nast’s poll.
