From May 1st through October 31st, sea turtles make Hilton Head Island their home. Many local sea turtles decide to pay their eggs on our beaches and soon after they start to hatch. According to the Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head, the group has found 134 total sea turtle nests on the island so far. Regular white lights can be distracting to newly hatched sea turtles and can deter them from finding their way into the ocean. It is strongly suggested that red-lights or orange-lights are used after dark.

• Ace Hardware of Hilton Head is located at 3 Northridge Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926
