Lawrence Alexander Director of Safety & Security

The Director of Safety & Security is charged with the responsibility of protecting life and property within the Shipyard community while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations as well as SPOA Convents and By-Laws. The Director of Safety & Security, also known as the Chief, leads the security department in their efforts to uphold the SPOA Convents, By-Laws, Access Policy, and patrol/gate orders. The Chief also conducts crisis response training and leads the Shipyard Security Committee in quarterly meetings. Chief Alexander is originally from the windy city of Chicago, Illinois. With a strong desire to serve his country, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and later retired as a Master Sergeant after 26 years. Soon after retiring Chief Alexander made his way to the Shipyard Security Team in 2012 working his way to become the Director of Safety & Security. When not a work, Chief Alexander enjoys spending time with his family, coaching girls' basketball, and playing golf with friends.
